Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

Your primary focus is customers — taking a deployment from empty cluster to agents people use daily: connecting their systems, modelling their access rules, and building the agents their teams need. You may also work on platform and AI features.

What you'll do

• Learn how the customer actually works — their problems, their workflows, the people doing them
• Design agents that solve those problems, and prove they do
• Set up and run deployments on customers’ own infrastructure or our managed environments
• Map their systems and turn their governance rules into enforced access policy
• Build each customer’s agents — prompts, tools, examples and evals
• Work with the customer's teams and stakeholders, find where agents perform poorly, and fix it quickly

What we look for

• 3+ years of technical experience. Extra points for time in a customer-facing role, or as an engineer working directly with customers
• Production experience with LLMs — context and prompt engineering, agent design and evaluation frameworks
• High agency: you make progress when the problem is vague and nobody is directing you
• Curiosity about the customer's business, and the persistence to understand it properly
• Judgement about which problems are worth solving with an agent, and which are not
• SQL fluency, and solid infrastructure skills — Docker, Kubernetes, networking, databases
• Comfortable working inside enterprise processes and their timelines
• Willing to work from customer sites when needed
• Excellent with AI-powered tools such as coding agents
• Excellent work ethic, and a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
• Great communication and collaboration skills
